how to build a barn door from pallets
In order to give tucker room to play and get the door out of the way we decided to give him a pallet sliding barn door. i had some pallets in the garage leftover from buying wood pellets for our stove so i decided to try and create a pallet sliding barn door.. To make these barn doors, i purchased quarter inch plywood and cut it down to the size of my doors (29" x 87"). i went ahead and stained the wood front and back with varathane's kona - i chose to go dark enough to match majority of the wood but not too dark (like black) since i think it would look off.. I wanted to make a set of sliding doors for the closet in this room because the bed is so far over that it gets in the way of opening the closet door. the perfect solution was to create a pair of sliding pallet barn doors! and with a stanley hardware sliding barn door hardware kit, it was easy. In a previous post shared our quick pallet shelter, but i also wanted to show how you can make a more permanent barn out of pallets.. we made this pallet barn a couple of years ago, when we were very new to building any sort of structure, and if i were to do it over again, i would probably do a million things differently..
